As you might know putting on the largest outdoor quilt show in the world is no small undertaking. We have an amazing staff and collection of volunteers...
I thought I would share a couple images from the Quilt Show office...
Quilts coming into the office...
Quilts waiting to be placed.... All those little pieces of paper on the walls are images of the buildings in town and how many quilts can fit there and any other specific information about size of quilts that can be there. Once the quilts start arriving the girls start picking quilts that look good together and piling them up... then they start placing them on buildings.
Olivia helping mom pick quilts for a building...
When a building is all done being filled with beautiful quilts they go in garbage bags until Saturday morning.
Saturday July 13, 2013.....
Just like every year the firemen come hang the Employee Challenge quilts on the side of the Stitchin' Post.... 7:30 am.
Lots of supervision!
The front of the Stitchin' Post was a series of quilts made by Chris Jones...we lost Chris to cancer the spring... she was a great quilter and a large part of our community. We dedicated this years show to her memory!
We get it all around here... cars covered in quilts and now a weather baloon covered in a quilt.
The walk down Cascade begins....
More tomorrow...
