A note from Jean......

Hi,
This is my first time writing on a blog and I had to share the journals that I just made out of Valori's new Sole' fabric from Free Spirit. There are five of us going to shop for the store, The Stitchin' Post, and to help Val with her booth. I thought about everyone's favorite color and choose fabrics accordingly. Val just happens to have a new group of sewing patterns that she is introducing at market and the journal covers are one of them. They were so easy! I purchased little notebooks from Staples and followed the directions on the sewing card.

Packing Day...

Livonfloorcloth I have been working in the studio a lot getting everything ready for market. Livvy and Ross were up hanging out with me and I turned around to see Livvy dancing on the floor cloth that I painted for market. I couldn't resit taking a picture of her.
I am putting the final touches on to projects today. We are going to pack the truck this afternoon so John (my wonderful step-dad) can leave tomorrow to drive to Salt Lake City. I am not sure what to do with myself with out all the list of things to do......but I think hanging out with the family will be perfect. It should be a nice day here today and I think we might go for a hike before we pack the truck. It feels good to have it all coming together.....can't wait to see how the booth turns out.

Studio Day......

<p style="text-align: center"Thurs26 I feel like a manufacture.......I am making purses and cell phone totes for market. I have some new patterns coming out that are "Sewing Cards". They are small patterns - postcard size - with simple sewing projects. I am really excited about them....I have four of them debuting at market and I like to have as many samples as I can. One of the great things about these cards is that we are going to be able to sell them for $3.00. Great deal....and fun to make. My studio day today is all the finishing projects for market. I am starting to get really excited about market, our booth, schoolhouse and seeing friends.

Lazy Sunday....

This is our new kitten, Sophie, sleeping in my pile of fabric. Once I get started on projects I end up not folding my fabric after I use it. When the inspiration is flowing no need to fold fabric. These days when I have the energy I have to take it. I have been more tired with this pregnancy than with the last. Must be chasing around a toddler.
It has been a lazy Sunday - but still productive. A little over a week until market. It seems everytime I take something off my list to do I think of something new......well back to the grindstone.Sophie_2

My First Blog......

Hello, you have found yourself on my blog......a first for me. I am seeing the tecnology world go crusin' by me and figured I needed to be a part of it.
A breif introduction - my name is Valori Wells, I am an artist - specializing in fabric design, quilting, photography and painting - in no partiular order, depends on the creative vibe. I also am an owner in a family business with my mom, Jean Wells, The Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Oregon. My greatest "job" is being a wife and mother.....we have a 20 month old daughter and another little girl on the way. I will be posting a bio soon.....
I wanted to get this new adventure started before I set off to Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am busy making fun things for schoolhouse and my booth at market out of my new fabric colleciton for Free Spirit. The collection is called Sole'. Well, back to work. I look forward to sharing my studio and my ideas with you.
